We have a tradition in my family for Valentines Day.
It started when I was a teenager and hopeful about receiving a mystery valentine!
My Mum sends me a card from a boy who I knew in primary school.
But not a boy who I would have liked to receive a card from!
For the last 15+ years I’ve received a card from ‘him’!
I’m sure when she started it all those years ago, it was just meant to be a one off.
But I obviously looked so mortified the first year, that she just had to carry on.
Now, I’d be disappointed if a card doesn’t arrive from ‘him’!
I’ve never taken Valentine’s Day too seriously, but it can be a nice excuse to take time out and do something nice with that special person in your life.
There are some lovely events happening around the county for Valentine’s Day, and I’ve picked out a few to give you some inspiration:
Valentine’s Dinner at Ightham Mote
Dinner at Leeds Castle
Valentines Day at Hever Castle
Night Tour at Wildwood Trust
Feel the Love at Bluewater
A Woodland Walk at Leeds Castle
I hope whatever you’re doing next week, you have a lovely day!
